Starting off at Indiana Dunes National Park
Walking the Paul H. Douglas (Miller Woods) Trail
This was a very diverse trail
There were sand dunes, forests, savannas, wetlands, and it ended with a beach
And here’s the beach
Very nice sand
Another great great lake view
Wait we have to walk back now?
So much sand in my shoes
Hey little fella
The weeds were a little overgrown on this part of the trail, legs were getting brushed a lot
Saw lots of little lizards by the water
Overall a good little hike
Now at the dune challenge near the popular West Beach
Woah surprise view of Chicago from up here
Lots and lots of stairs on this 1-mile boardwalk
Back to the lake
Water was a good temperature
Decided to build a sandcastle
Just a couple of kids at heart
Going for a swim
Lots of great rocks at this beach
One of the century of progress houses
Warning! Awesome sunset pictures incoming
You were warned
Wow wow wow
Looking good
Our sandcastle’s rockhenge still standing
The photo behind the photo
Okay one more sunset pic
Next day, off to do some apple picking
Lots of nice flowers
The farm was like a tourist destination
You could buy a bucket of flowers for 20 something dollars
Swinging in the sunflower patch
Hey I thought we came here for apple picking?
Ooo a bean maze
We are so easily distracted
King of the haybale hill
They also had geant wheels for rolling around in
Hey I thought we came here for apple picking
Finally picking apples now
And… we’re done
Didn’t want to pay $10 for a whole bag of apples so we just picks a few
Wagon twofie
Now off to a fancy 1900s ice cream parlor and museum
They had lot’s of antique soda fountain machines, music players, and other relics from the roaring 20s
Very classy place
This music machine played like a whole band
We got a banana split!
Final stop, a drive in theater, technically this was in Kentucky
We saw Top Gun Maverick and the original Mission Impossible, only $6 total on national cinema day
Nice little park in Jeffersonville
Trees were planted in nice neat rows
Making steak sandwiches
