Photos from Illinois
Abraham Lincoln Historic Home
Nice free tour of Lincoln’s historically accurate house
Haha lots of fake food in the kitchen
Whole neighborhood has been recreated as a historic preservation site
The old Illinois State capitol
I guess they are doing some roof work
Knock knock anyone in there?
Current Illinois State Capitol
Lincoln grave site and monument
Picturesque farm
Looks like a hot air balloon festival or something
We saw tons of windmills while driving toward Chicago
They all had lights blinking in sync
Looked like an alien invasion or something
Library in Naperville (Chicago suburb) was really nice
All of Naperville was nice, but also very crowded and busy
Got the best table at the library this time
Found a cool conveyor belt sushi place
Not a huge fan of sushi myself but willing to try it
Another day, another trip to the library
Grocery shopping in an Amazon Fresh store
Automatic cart added items as we shopped and then we just walked out
Another park for making dinner
Sauteed chicken and veggies with rice
Decided to try another nice library in Naperville
We ate breakfast at a place right on a small airstrip
Photos from Chicago
Taking a train into the city
View from the “L”
Haha Chicago’s biggest attraction is just a shiny bean
Actually pretty cool in person
Very interesting reflections directly under the bean
Buckingham fountain
Great view of the city skyline
Chicago harbor and marina on Lake Michigan
On to the river walk now
Very nice city walkway
Famous bridges along the river
Wishing the bridges would open
We sat here and relaxed for a while
Watching the planes, trains, boats, trucks, cars, and walkers go by, everyone is in such a rush
Not a bad picture of us in the city
Lots of tour boats going up and down the river
Heading to dinner now, back along the riverwalk
Original Chicago Uno’s Pizzeria
Birthplace of deepdish pizza
I thought it tasted really good
Back to the “L”
Leaving the city
Had the whole train car to ourselves at one point
